Challenge

A sovereign nation was expanding community services by developing an RV park for members and visitors. However, a critical need quickly emerged: the park required a controlled Wi-Fi system that could provide reliable internet access while maintaining strict oversight of usage and security.

Without a properly designed system, the tribe risked:

• Poor visitor experience due to unreliable or unsecured connectivity.
• Potential exposure of tribal networks and data.
• Ongoing operational issues without a sustainable management framework.

Tribal leadership and the internal IT team recognized the importance of implementing a system that would deliver both quality service for guests and long-term control for the nation.

Approach

DeSoto partnered directly with the tribe’s capable IT team to design, craft, and install a tailored Wi-Fi solution. The approach included:

• Controlled Access: Engineered a network structure that allowed the tribe to manage usage policies, guest access, and bandwidth distribution.

• Training & Knowledge Transfer: Equipped the tribal IT team with documentation and training to maintain and manage the system independently.
