Challenge

A sovereign tribal nation identified critical safety concerns within its Tribal Housing program. Protecting residents required more than traditional security measures—the community needed reliable monitoring across wide and sometimes remote areas.

The challenge was twofold:

• Limited Infrastructure: Traditional wired or ISP-based security systems were not feasible in every location.
• Safety at Risk: Without proper coverage, residents—including elders and families—faced vulnerabilities in their own housing environments.

DeSoto collaborated closely with the tribe to design and manage a comprehensive satellite camera system tailored to housing needs. The project included:

• Sovereignty & Control: Structured the system so the tribe maintains full authority over monitoring, access, and security protocols.
